My sincere congratulations. Can you do a portable version, so it doesn’t need installation? This would be great!
Thanks for your time.
Hi, thanks so much for this tool. But after the start on a Windows 7 32bit system (as admin) several error messages appear (translate from German)
Row: xxx
Character: yyy
Error: The system cannot find the path
URL:”file:///C:/Program%20Files/DIYPhotoBits.com%20Camera%20Control%205.2/Camera%20Control.hta”
Examples for rows: 113, 143, 1171, 1188, 1207
Does anyone know an answer or fix?
Best regards, DirkA

Hello
I like the script very much!
Is there a way to have every image deleted from the CF after transferring to PC or to shoot without CF (or SD) Card directly to a Windows Folder?
I’d like to use your Camera Control for a longer time lapse and it would fill up every card sooner or later….
Thanks & best regards, Alex B
I am trying to use camera control and it seemed to work with the D3000 for a few shots and now it brings
file:///C:/Programe%20Files/DIYPhotoBits.com%20Camera%20Control%205.2/Camera%20Control.hta
Line 210
Char3
Error : file already exists
Code: 0
I would appreciate any help. I am not that computer or camera savvy. Many Thanks
Marie
Hello,
I tried your script with my D70 (it has the latest Nikon firmware). Nice script, but without being able to view raw images unfortunately it is not very useful for me… As you know D70 can’t shoot in both JPEG and RAW at the same time, so I need to be able to preview RAW if I shoot in RAW. External viewer would be OK but it doesn’t seem to work… I installed ViewNX and Nikon NEF driver, but to no avail. Any plans on fixing this? Thanks a lot, Mikhail
Thank you for this!
OMG, thank you for this.
are the creator of this site is still kicking?
Downloaded to a Toshiba laptop. Installed, plugged in my D90 and it works! A bit primitive but fully functional. Does exactly what I need as an amateur portrait shooter. Thanks a million for your efforts on this. I used to do man-machine interface programming in another life so appreciate what you’ve done.
hi, does anyone can help me regarding the time lapse!
time lapse work great aside from that the time is not consistent.
if i put 6 seconds with 4shots
1st shot will fire in range of 6seconds
2nd shot will fire in range of 1osecs(somtimes 10-13)
3rd shot will fire at 9-13secs
4th will fire 9-13secs too
my point is, any suggestion how to be consistent with this time?
when i click the start time lapse im also playing in my cellphone a audio beep file but it always change. now im always editing my beep audio file!
anyone can help me on this?
Hey, thanks a lot, I was searching for the same. I am using D 90 and these pathetic people (Nikon) didn’t give time-lapse option, also I cant connect camera to my window PC. Thanks to diyphotobits…
now I can connect camera to PC and made 24 hrs time-lapse video also.
There is small problem, I am not able to visualize the grabbed images in same software, what to do?
No problem now, I got it…
Thanks again………
Hi!
This tool works well with my D3000 on win7,but there is a problem:the tool cant save pictures to my harddisk, can you fix this problem? Thanks!
D5000 works! Totally stoked. Thanks a bunch
Hmm. It recognizes my D80 on Vista, and will trigger the shutter. No photos are downloaded or displayed; The exposure mode, shutter speed and F-stop controls are grayed and disabled.
Just tried it on a brand new D7000
Didnt need to change anything on Camera, just connected camera, started software and selected camera and good to go.
Finally something free……
Just a note to say thanks. I love it. Just done a shoot of an infant, and this product helped me tremendously. Seeing those large images, and being able to reshoot without spending a half day in photoshop gives you hats off. Again, thanks.
Works great with my D3000!!! all buttons and dials!!! jejejeje… thanks you sooo much team!!
By the way, i´m using Win Vista in a Lenovo 3000 laptop w/2Gb. RAM (and Nikon D3000 of course).
Soon i will test it with Nikon D3100, D60, D90 and all of my friends camera models.
Thanks again.
Very nice work! It works with my D50 and Windows XP. Thank you!

Just tried with my D-7000, shutter works, preview works… I will do some more testing this weekend, and update this blog
Thanks a lot.
I’ve looking for this kind for a while, and this suites me perfect! Simple, light and it works like a charm.
Gear:
Nikon D7000
Win 7 – 32bit
HP Pavilion Ent. laptop
Great, just great!! 🙂
From Anne, Norway!
It will allow me to snap a picture on my D50, but will not show preview and will not tether. I can take all the shop I want, but how do I get them to save to the computer.
Thanks
Ken

Nikon Tethered Shooting with Lightroom 3 » Glyn Dewis Blog
hi dear
i’ve found you project simply amazing.
are you still following blog?? i hope…
i’m a student in informatic engineering in Italy, i’d like to implement your work in hardware, with VHDL language.
it’s a project for university, NON COMMERCIAL.
i’d like to talk a bit with you…
where did you found documentation or datasheet to know how “talk” to camera and timing?
does anyone where i could found those info/datasheet to know how dialogate with camera?
thanks a lot
giacomo
I have tried this software. I think it is very simple. But is there a way to use the prefix line without the DCS of the camera being stuck in there as well. I try to type a student name in the prefix. But it also applies part of the camera number. Can I turn this offf? .If I could get just the name , ie (Daryl Edwards_1234.nef) that would be WONNNDDERRFULL
Thanks for the software. Way easier than Nikon.
I downloaded camera control 5.2 but when I run it prompts an error: “Linea 14, caracter: 5, no se puede iniciar el servicio o grupo de dependencia, código 0, URL: file:///C:/Program%20Files/DIYPhotoBits.com%20Camera%20Control%205.2/Camera%20Control.hta”
So I can´t select camera and when I choose the folder, has error “linea 940…”
I have windows Vista 32b and my camera is a Nikon D3000.
Thanks
I was wondering if you could help me out big time. I am trying to use my TI-83 plus calculator as an intervalometer, but I am running into trouble. I have a Nikon D3000 and your great software works perfectly with it. I just need the code that I could put into the calc program to get it to take interval shots. Here is the link to the TI-83 intervalometer tut. Thanks a ton. http://www.instructables.com/id/Turn-a-TI-Graphing-Calculator-into-an-Intervalomet/
when using the remote for example are you able to put it on to a timer?

Just tested it with D3100. Seeems to do the trick… Does anyone knows how to PREVIEW the sensor image (e.g. ‘remote’ Live View) with the D3100? This would be a great function for extreme macro shooting (especially when taking numerous shots at various focal points to creat a composite image with a larger depth of fiel for a very close up macro image…).
No problems with D 90 on Dell 64 bit Vista and also on a laptop Dell 600 running XP.
Stopped me for a moment when i looked for the usb storage menu on the D 90. Forget it. Doesn`t exist. No menu change with D 90.
Very much appreciate the program and the $$$ savings. Nikon good but like Sony and Mercedes. My way or highway 🙂 D
Awesome app, how do we contact the dev? I am looking to have a mod made to the script, willing to pay $$$. Please email me if you’re interested.
Thanks.
Zee
In case that nay of you are looking o find out if this app runs the Nikon D3100: it does (and very well).
WinXP (Media Center) SP3; via USB 2.
basically it works. It simply has NO access to theLiveView so you have to remote trigger and auto transfer the image to the PC for viewing.
Very good for studio setting such as macro ‘slicing’ for stacking, etc.
This works great with my Nikon D5000 and Windows 7. Thanks!
I am getting an error 1904 when I try to install the program.
Can anyone help?
We are a search and rescue outfit and would like to run tethered with Nikon D100’s and D200’s. This latest script works fine with our D200. Thanks very much. We would like to add some functionality to this script to geo-tag photos real time as they are taken & downloaded to the PC (vs. post processing with gps track files). Would it be possible to collaborate on functionality enhancements? If we can get access to the source code, we can provide updates back thru the original author. Any interest in helping with this? Thanks, Chris.

I guess this doesn’t work anymore. I’m getting an Internet Explorer Script Error anytime I push anything on this program. Bummer.

Recently one of my computers started glitching w/ my camera… it doesn’t recognize it anymore, so I can’t shoot tethered with that workstation. It’s almost like the driver for the camera became corrupt… does anyone know if there’s a fix, like maybe a driver download for a driver re-load? I use winxp pro and a D50…. Thanks for any help!
Any one that can help me, I have windows vista 32B and the sw is not working for D3000. I´ve seen some other comments that work great, I tryed installed again but still the same ” line 14, character 5 can´t iniciate service or dependence group, code 0, file:///C:/Program%20Files/DIYPhotoBits.com%20Camera%20Control%205.2/Camera%20Control.hta”. What am I doing wrong?
As far as the last 2 comments/help notes:
Does the PC recognize the cameras with other software (such as the free Nikon loader sw)?
See http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61/~/current-versions-of-nikon-software#Anchor-8
and
http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61/~/current-versions-of-nikon-software
Some of these are free or trials, so it would be prudent to check the camera accessibility to he computer with any of the sw on the Nikon website. Please report results…
